April 5 - 19, 2014
KIMOTO GALLERY, VANCOUVER BC
Katsumi Kimoto presents another stage in the evolution of his abstract paintings with his exhibition, titled: Fluid Impressions. Continuing on the last few years of acrylic painting, using his flame-like and feathering technique, Kimoto takes us in another direction by adding layers of colourful bold brush strokes to the surface, creating a great amount of depth, action and eye movement for the viewer. These colourful abstract paintings are finished with a high-polished resin, which greatly enhance the vibrancy, saturation and depth. They entice the viewer to perceive an emotion, a place or thing, and perhaps even a state of mind, captured in paint.
